commentary: 4:2

so i am listening to the press conference
i found i couldn't not

my imperfect produce came
while it was going full swing
i went to the door after they rang the bell
and the guy was standing right there
holding it out to me
saying:  hi

it kinda freaked me out
i'm like:  hi
but i mean
i waited a minute
and usually
when i've seen them
the delivery guys have been african
i don't mean black
i mean african
there are lots of africans working
delivery/rriving jobs
door dash, imperfect produce, uber
[i should clarify
i haven't been using those other services
during the quarantine
i'm saying two different things
and they're getting muddled]
and they
maybe having experience with contageous disease
maybe just from a desire not to interact
set the box down
ring the bell
walk quickly away
i think this is smart
and
i have had nothing but good experiences
with africans in my life
smart and efficient is winning out over friendly

this guy
is young like mid twenties
attractive, hispanic
and he looks like an ad for something
so clean cut, smiling, impossible to not smile at
say hi and take the box from him

so i bring in the plague box
and freak out slightly
that wasn't six feet
it was the width of a box
breathe, breathe, breathe
and i wipe everything down with bleach water
rather than soaping everything up
because i'm thinking it will take less time
but it doesn't seem to

the press conference
is washing over me
what i'm getting
is that i'm supposed to believe
that suddenly
they've got this shit under control
but
i do not believe this

he is so full of his own importance
and heroic imaginings
