MAYBE

THREE experiences
& I've had
OTHERS, but these HIT different
ARE they
MEANT to be
INTERPRETED
ARE they
SAYING SOMETHING
or are they just
ME
PROJECTING meaning ONTO something
SORRY
that seems unnecessarily vague
I was driving my mom to her
CARDIOLOGIST
& we were
PAST the time we were supposed to be there
BUT not yet
LATE for the appointment
& my mom's in the
SEAT next to me
we are at richmond and montrose
the windows are UP
there is a guy
STANDING
in the
street
the windows block the sound pretty well
I can't tell what he's saying
BUT it isn't
QUIET
I'm LIKE
man
I'm sure he's got SOMETHING going on
& I'd give him a dollar
if I have a dollar
BUT I might
NOT
&
my purse is in the back seat and honestly I am at capacity -- I cannot handle this interaction -- I'm NOT going to make EYE contact
THAT doesn't SEEM
UNREASONABLE
I am not required to open myself up
to conversation with people
STANDING in the
STREET
I have the OPTION of course
BUT
THIS is NOT the ADVENTURE I'm choosing
he WALKED by the CAR
& SAID
I JUST WANTED to TALK
