I feel like
I should now tell you
my favorite movies
& or
watch yours
which I largely
either haven't seen
or saw long enough ago
that they aren't fresh to mind
BUT
I don't think a day of movies is going to work
at least not today
&
I have loved movies all my life
& studied a bunch in college
AND
I'm honestly not sure
HOW
to pick
LIKE the thing with me is
I could make a list NOW
& a list in six months
would they be the SAME
probably not
SO
I THINK today
the criteria I would use
is
what movies do I THINK about
LIKE core part of my psyche
would there be ten
of THOSE
& I realize that might not be the same as FAVORITE

might really mean something different
BUT
these are the ones
that impacted me
in a way
that they intrude themselves
into my THINKING process
BUT
some of my favorite directors
aren't even on this list
I am FUNDAMENTALLY
poorly suited to lists
